Tang
Soo Do Recommended Training Uniforms
The
training uniform is called the 'Do Bok' in Korean. This is a composite
word that can be translated into 'clothing for the Way of Life'.
This should encourage all practitioners that when we practice Tang
Soo Do, we should wear a clean and tidy uniform. The white colour
is also important as it shows purity, reverence for life and our
aim to avoid confrontation and violence.
Always appear
in class with your uniform clean and neatly pressed, in good repair
and with the proper trim for your rank. Your Instructors and seniors
will be able to advise you on proper care and how to wear your Do
Bok.
The
training belt is called the 'Dee' in Korean. The belt is the most
significant statement of your level of skill and knowledge in Tang
Soo Do. This reflects the journey we have travelled during our training
and the experiences to date. The belt should always be worn correctly
with tags on the left side of the wearer. The belt must always be
worn during practice and removed during refreshments or at any time
taken out of the Do Jang in class time..You should avoid allowing
your belt to lay on the floor for any length of time, it should
be folded and placed in your training bag immediately.
